As a homeowner, you have responsibilities. Pay the bills, obey the HOA regulations and do regular maintenance. In springtime, it’s easy to get carried away with more enjoyable outdoor tasks. You want to enjoy the garden and fresh air. Maybe you’re taking a vacation this spring break with the kids. There are lots of fun things to do in the springtime, but don’t let your spring maintenance tasks get away from you.
HVAC Maintenance
Now is the time to change the filters on your AC unit, if you want to keep it running smoothly all year long. It’s also a good time to get your yearly tune-up. If you do this task in spring, you won’t be caught without air conditioning when the hot weather really hits. You may also find it easier to get an AC repairman to your house when the weather is still relatively cool. If you wait until everyone else has turned on their ACs, you might find the repairmen are too busy to see you. Check out HVAC company Fairfax County VA or your area sooner rather than later.
Roofs and Gutters
Spring is also a good time to check your roof and gutters to see if they need cleaning or repair work. Make sure to get this work done before the summer storms hit; you don’t want to discover that your gutters are clogged and your roof is leaking in the middle of
a storm.
Exterior Paint
Winter can be especially hard on your home’s exterior, so check your exterior paint for signs of wear and tear once the weather warms up. With the weather turning nicer, you should be able to patch those peeling areas and seal up any caulk that’s come loose.
Spring maintenance is an important part of home maintenance, so don’t overlook these important tasks as the weather warms up.
